Reading a card

To get started it's important to know how to read cards so you can build your deck. Here you go!

  • Lava Cost
This tells you how much lava the card costs to play.
  • Rarity Gem
This colored Gem provides an indication of the rarity of the card (typically correlated with power and value).
  • Name of the Card
The middle of the card displays the Name.
  • Attack Strength
This tells you the base attack stat for the card (only creature cards have an attack stat).
  • Health
This tells you the base health stat for the card (only creature cards have a Health stat).
  • Ability Text
This explains what effects the card may have, either when played, or when attacking.

Board Layout

  • 1. Main Board
Here is where you and your opponent will place your cards (drag and drop). Each opponent can have a maximum of 7 cards on the board.
  • 2. Deck
This is your deck and you can see how many cards you have left. Every player starts with exactly 30 cards and you can build your own deck in the menu. When you run out of cards you will not lose the game immediately, but you will stop drawing cards.
  • 3. Graveyard
The graveyard shows all the cards you have played this game. Both players can see all cards in either graveyard.
  • 4. Your Hand
These are the cards you have in your hand. You can have 𝐦𝐚𝐱 𝟔 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 in your hand.
  • 5. Lava Counter
The lava counter displays how much lava you have left during your turn. You'll get lava at the start of every turn.
  • 6. Health Points
Each player starts with 30 health points. The goal of the game is to get your opponents health points to 0 by attacking him directly.
  • 7. Turn Timer
The duration of each turn is 65 seconds. During your turn you can summon cards, beasts and spells. When the timer runs out your turn is over.

  • Be sure to 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 early when you are finished. This will keep gameplay fast-paced and will be appreciated by both you and your opponent.
*The board is mirrored for your opponent.

Gameplay

At the start of each game you'll enter the 'Mulligan' where 5 cards will be shown. You are able to choose the cards you'd like to replace in your starting hand. Those will be replaced at random by different cards from your deck.

You start the game with 5 cards and will not draw a card in yout first turn.

Each turn has 3 distinct phases.

  • Start of Turn
During the beginning of your turn, your available lava is set to the maximum available for this turn. You then drawn cards, and status effects wear off if applicable.
  • Main Phase
During the Main Phase you can play cards and attack with creatures (drag & drop), you can do this in any order you like, the main phase lasts for 65 seconds, but you can choose to end your turn early. You may attack any creature you choose, or the enemy hero directly, unless prevented from doing so by the effects of a card.
  • End of Turn
End of Turn cancels any active spells if you haven't selected a target, and applies any DoT (Damage over Time) effects where applicable.

Lava

To reduce confusion for new players we'll explain the lava distribution system right here!

Lava is not carried over from one turn to the next; anything you don't use is wasted, and your total, refills at the beginning of each turn. So make sure to make good use of your Lava!

You cannot hold more than 10 lava at one time.

As seen in the picture:
Player 1 starts on 1 Lava and Player 2 starts on 2, to offset the advantage from going first and being able to play a card first. After turn 3, Lava increases by l point each turn up to a maximum of 10.

Deck

Your deck is the most important aspect of the game. You will start with a basic deck but you are able to change it to your likings right from the start. In the video below we explain how and where you can change your deck.
